Call Direction Summary

The Call Direction Summary is a Summary report. This means that each call direction will be displayed on its own individual line next to its specific statistics for the given report. This report lists each possible call direction (inbound, outbound, internal, and intersite*).

This report focuses on a summary of calls for each call direction. Columns include the total call count; the total, average, and maximum call duration; and the talking duration of all calls from the given direction. The report summaries at the top of the page show total, average, and maximum statistics across all of the listed call directions.

*Intersite refers to Legacy versions of Chronicall (prior to version 3.6).

Column Descriptions


Call Direction

Shows whether the given call was an inbound, outbound, internal, or intersite call.

  • Inbound - When an external party calls you. The call originates outside of your system and comes into your phone system.
  • Outbound - When you call an external party. The call originates inside your system but goes outside of your system.
  • Internal - When you dial another person by their extension in the organization. The call originates in your system but stays in your system. (extension to extension)
  • Intersite - This is very uncommon and is there for Legacy Versions prior to Chronicall release 3.6. Intersite calls occur when a call starts in one of your phone systems and connects to another system on the same network. You will only see intersite calls if you have set up Chronicall to record data from multiple locations.

Call Count

Shows the total number of calls associated with the given call direction.


Total Call Duration

Shows the total duration of all calls with the given call direction.


Avg Call Duration

Shows the average duration of all calls with the given call direction.


Max Call Duration

Shows the maximum duration of all calls with the given call direction.


Total Talking Duration

Shows the total duration of all talking events in calls with the given call direction.


Avg Talking Duration

Shows the average duration of all talking events in calls with the given call direction.


Max Talking Duration

Shows the maximum duration of all talking events in calls with the given call direction.
